The CASE42 (CASE FOR TWO) is a sleek aluminium case designed to hold a BIC J5 lighter and two cigarettes.
It’s made for those small, intimate moments you share with someone. your partner, a friend, or even a stranger you’ve just met.
Cigarettes are one of the things humans tend to share the most often with surprising generosity.
Maybe it’s not just about sharing death sticks, but about carrying just two. Not a whole pack. For that one moment in the day. A statement. Something a bit absurd, yet strangely thoughtful.
the story
Faridi, founder of PURP3R, is a creative project manager with a head full of ideas. One day, he imagined a lighter case that could hold two cigarettes on top. It started as a rough doodle on a scrap of paper. A friend helped him turn it into a 3D-printed prototype, but the dimensions were all off.
At his part-time job, Faridi met Matthäus, a new hire who as it turned out, was also a product designer. Perfect match. They got talking, and Matt said: “I can make this work.”
From there, the real building began. Matt developed several working 3D prototypes, each one refined a little more than the last.
Once they locked in the design and final technical drawings, he delivered the finished prototypes. Faridi went factory hunting, tracked down a supplier, and ordered samples. The first batch? Off by just one millimeter — the lighter didn’t fit.
Still, they went for it. While production was underway, the two focused on packaging, promotion, and bringing the whole vision to life.
